College Life

Oh, what a crazy semester this has been. I recently changed my major from business admin. to mass communications with an emphasis in public relations (with a concentration in business.)
I am LOVING it here at Sam Houston. I realized that you really get as much as you put into things. I am an active member of the fraternity Zeta Tau Alpha and currently hold an officer position on the executive councel. I am an Orientation Leader, a Student Ambassardor, and a tour guide for SHSU. It's great working and doing something I really love to do! I am making a lot of great connections for the business world after college.
A recent project I have really enjoyed working on is for one of my writing enhanced classes. We are to write a feature on something, anything of our choice. Many students mentioned they would like to cover events such as Chili Fest, or ACL. I, however, chose to write my feature as a day in the life of a prisoner. I scheduled interviews with a prisoner (we do have the nations largest pen in Huntsville!), a prison guard, and the retired warden of the Walls unit. He oversaw Gary Grahm's execution and 89 other than that. It was really interesting hearing their stories and how it really is inside of a prison. For example, in Conroe, TX, a few bullies lit a small boy on fire. The inmates all raised money to cover the boys hospital bills and made sure that he had a full recovery. I was shocked to hear stories such as that.
I am a sports LOVER! I am very involved with intramural sports here and play soccer, flag football, volleyball, and softball.
WELL, that's all for now, folks.... or mom. :)

Way to go, Hill! Hey, I did find the Floppy Hats blog. Go to my face and click on more blogs. I just did it, and there it was. Give Erich a big huggie for becoming our fan. I forget, is he on the MES side as well? I'll check.
